In 2016, three best friends and gin lovers started a quest for their perfect gin. In London, the birthplace of famous gin palaces and distilleries, they laid the foundation for an extraordinary botanical mix. And the journey continued with the hunt for that one exceptional botanical ingredient. This brought them to the majestic Himalayas. At the old market in Kathmandu they discovered timut, the holy grail who completed their search for perfection.
The horse got drunk, very drunk, The Drunken Horse!
The Drunken Horse Gin is an internationally awarded small batch and London Dry Gin. It is produced in an Antwerp micro distillery. It is a fresh citrus gin with shades of peppers. A nicely balanced combination of a zest of red grapefruit, zest of lime, cardamom, long pepper, .. Our most distinctive botanical is the Timut pepper. Originally you find this only in Nepal, where it is hand-picked on the Himalayas. This small pepper used to be mainly used for its medicinal powers due to its narcotic effect. For our gin, however, it gives a very surprising and refreshing taste, emphasizing the citrus and other peppers.
The gin was awarded with gold medals at the “San Francisco World Spirit Competition”, “China Wine and Spirits awards” and the “Stuttgart International Spirits Competition”.
